The Indian Railways has taken a significant step toward modernizing its operations by engaging with 23 entities, ranging from start-ups and individual innovators to MSMEs and NGOs. These entities have been chosen to provide cutting-edge technologies aimed at ensuring safe and efficient train operations across the country.
Launched under the ‘Startups for Railways’ initiative on June 13, 2022, the Indian Railways Innovation Portal has become a platform for identifying and solving key challenges in the rail sector. Issues such as effective track cleaning, timely detection of broken rails, and advanced fire/smoke detection systems for train coaches with wireless networking are among the problems addressed through this initiative.
