To minimise the “harrowing experience” of passengers waiting for security frisking and x-ray checking queues at Srinagar International Airport, the airport authorities on Tuesday started a study to identify the bottlenecks at the airport and to reduce waiting time for travellers.
The three-day study is meant to understand the passenger flow at the airport and clear bottlenecks in areas like security frisking, check-in counters, vehicle checking areas and baggage X-ray portions.
Officials of the airport said that the study was aimed to identify the problem areas and ensure smooth flow of the passengers. “It is our objective to ensure smooth flow of passengers, but there are several obstructions: Security (related) frisking, check-in counters, vehicle checking and baggage X-ray are a few of such bottlenecks,” said airport director, Kuldeep Singh in a series of tweets.
