NEW DELHI: With no support coming in the recent Budget, India’s struggling to survive aviation industry has requested Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman to give some relief urgent. Jet fuel prices for domestic flights are at the highest ever level in the country thanks to high base prices and even higher tax and excise rates.
SpiceJet CMD Ajay Singh on Sunday urgent the FM to grant infrastructure status to the travel sector that
to facilitate lending by banks and financial institutions. At a post-budget interaction, on behalf of the civil aviation, travel, tourism and hospitality sectors as ASSOCHAM VP, Singh requested Sitharaman’s support for inclusion of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) under GST.
