Hyderabad: Tight hairpins on a dusty track for the “attack mode” followed by a braking zone and a tight lefthander that made overtaking fraught with risk, a chicane before yet another hairpin followed by a righthander that brought the driver to the finish line. The inaugural Formula E race in India — the first Federation Internationale de L’Automobile (FIA) event in the country in a decade — on a brand new street circuit next to Hussain Sagar lake in Hyderabad on Saturday afternoon put sustainability on the fast track. The event was won by Jean-Éric Vergne of DS Penske, followed by Nick Cassidy of Envision Racing and António Félix Da Costa of Tag Heuer Porsche.
