CHENNAI: The railway board has allocated one 16-coach Vande Bharat train set to Southern Railway which is likely to use it to run trains on one of these routes – Chennai-Bengaluru, Chennai-Coimbatore or Chennai-Madurai.
After the new upgraded rake of Vande Bharat train was flagged off recently, the railway board has been allotting the trains being manufactured at Integral Coach Factory (ICF) to different zones.
A railway official said “We have not finalised the route. The work is going on to prepare a maintenance yard yard for the trains at Basin Bridge train care centre,” he added.
