BENGALURU: Amid the heat rising by the day, unscheduled power cuts in southern localities of the city have been adding to Bengalureans’ discomfort over the past week. Though the government has been maintaining that Karnataka has surplus power, residents have a different story to tell about how the disruptions in supply have hit them.
Citizens from Jayanagar, Uttarahalli, Chikkallasandra, Poorna Prajna Layout, AGS Layout, Hoskerehalli and a few adjoining parts of south Bengaluru witnessed power disruptions on Sunday and Monday morning. According to the residents, the unscheduled power cuts lasted more than six hours in some areas. “Last Friday also, there was no power from morning till noon,” rued a resident from Hoskerehalli.
