Shares of Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy NSE 3.93 % and Borosil Renewables NSE 0.97 % rose up to 6 per cent in Thursday’s trade after the Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme on ‘National programme on High Efficiency Solar PV Modules’.
The PLI scheme on high efficiency Solar PV Modules is aimed to achieve manufacturing capacity of Giga Watt (GW) scale in high efficiency Solar PV modules.
The decision is aimed at building an ecosystem for manufacturing high efficiency solar PV modules, said Union Minister Anurag Thakur while addressing a press conference.
As part of the project, approximately 65,000 MW per year manufacturing capacity of fully and partially integrated, solar PV modules shall be installed. A grant worth Rs 19,500 crore has been passed by the government.
