Soon solar power will light up the country’s top 19 central health research institutes headed by the Apex health research body, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) as it embarks on a green journey to set up rooftop solar (RTS) power panels to help achieve country’s target of Net Zero by 2070.
The emphasis is on energy conservation and pollution-free environment, said an official from the ICMR which recently floated an expression of interest (EoI) aiming to reduce the dependence on conventional sources of energy, and replacing them with renewable sources.
It plans to install grid connected solar panels on the rooftops/land mounted panels at its institutes and centres having a total Sanctioned load of 14895 KW.
