Minister for Higher Education Anbalagan will dedicate solar power plant established by MSU on an outlay of Rs. 5 crore on 3.70 acres of land on its Abhishekapatti campus on Friday.
“The photovoltaic panels, which generate 1 MW power, will generate significant revenue for MSU as surplus electricity after its consumption will be sold to the Tangedco,” said Mr. K. Baskar.
Since the MSU’s main campus has 543 acre with black cotton soil, conducive for solar power generation with bright sunshine for almost nine months a year, the proposal for installing solar power panels was mooted.
