NEW DELHI: Tata Power on Friday inaugurated its “India International Centre goes green” initiative by installing 70kW rooftop solar power panels which it claims will save 1,00,000 units.
A discom official said the panels, which has been built as a CSR initiative for Rs 35 lakh, will help save around Rs 11 lakh in power bills and 63 tonnes of carbon emission annually.
“The panels will be operated by Tata Solar Power for free for the next five years. The project entails energy efficiency of 90,000 KWh annually, reducing carbon emissions by 63 tonne,” Tata Power chief executive officer Praveer Sinha said.
