Kolkata: Solar installations in India dropped 35 per cent (year-on-year) in the first half (H1) of 2019. The significant drop notwithstanding, India remains the third largest solar market in the world behind China and the US. In H1 2019, India installed 3.2 GW of solar power across the country.
Rooftop solar installations accounted for 17 per cent of total solar installations in the first half of 2019, a decline of 45 per cent compared to H1 2018. Cumulative rooftop installations totalled nearly 3,816 MW as of June 2019.
