MUMBAI: The solar agricultural pumps that were provided by MSEDCL under the chief minister’s solar agricultural pump scheme will be replaced or repaired for free of cost in case there is any technical fault in the pumps due to rain, storm or any other natural calamity, announced state energy minister Nitin Raut on Tuesday.
“At present, the danger of uncertain rain and storm is looming large in the state and there are chances of technical faults in the agricultural pumps or the solar panels,” said Raut while directing officials to repair/replace all faulty solar pumps and panels immediately. This will ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during night hours to farmers for agriculture.
As per the scheme, MSEDCL has completed the tendering process for the implementation/procurement of 25,000 solar agricultural pumps in the first phase and the process of the remaining 75,000 solar pumps of the second and third phase is in progress, said MSEDCL chief spokesperson Anil Kamble.
