City residents had to face a harrowing time for almost two hours in the extremely hot and humid weather conditions as 220 kW Lalton Kalan sub-station developed a snag. As a result, more than a dozen 66 kW sub-stations feeding parts of the city had remained completely shut down from 11 am to 1 pm when the fault was rectified.
But that was not the end of it as there was another power failure due to line faults in many areas of Civil Lines and surrounding localities which had lasted for almost two hours. In other words, right from 11 am onwards, residents in many areas had to go without power over four hours making life miserable.
