BENGALURU: A man who landed with gold-crafted nuts and bolts fitted into his suitcase was caught at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on Friday. Bengaluru Customs sleuths seized smuggled gold worth Rs 15 lakh along with the luggage from him.
Sources with Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Bengaluru Customs at KIA said the smuggling attempt unfolded in the early hours of Friday. The suspect, who wasn’t identified by the investigating team citing an ongoing probe, landed on Emirates flight EK 568 from Dubai around 3am.
