SJVN plans 8520 million units of Power generation in FY 2015-16

Mumbai: Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ministry of Power whereby the company plans a target of 8520 million units of Power generation in FY 2015-16. The company plans energy generation of 8520 million units (under Excellent parsers) with an expected sales turnover of Rs 2,224 crore and gross operating margin of Rs 1,140 crore from its 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station, 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh and 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind Power Project in Maharashtra.

The MoU also includes targets for implementation of 1320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Plant in Bihar and 80 MW Doimukh Hydro electric Project in Arunachal Pradesh. Besides, against the target of generating 7920 million units (under Excellent parameters) for FY 2014-15 the power stations of SJVN had generated around 8130 million units.

SJVN is a joint venture between the Central government and Himachal Pradesh state government. The company owns and operates India’s largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh.
