Simulator infrastructure ready at Mumbai’s Mandale depot to train Metro pilots

The construction of a 21-metre-high simulator building comprising a three-story structure with a total 3,278.66 square metre built-up area at Mandale depot has been completed. The simulator, on the lines of aircraft simulators, will offer training to Metro train pilots and operators, through real-time simulation.

Earlier, the Mumbai Metro drivers or pilots were sent to Hyderabad due to a lack of infrastructure, said an official from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), the nodal agency appointed by the state for metro construction work.
