NEW DELHI: The Union aviation and shipping ministries on Tuesday signed an MoU to develop sea plane services in India.
While the shipping ministry will identify and develop water front infrastructure of aerodromes and obtain required statutory clearances, aviation authorities will carry out bidding and select operators under UDAN to operationalise those routes.
Union aviation minister H S Puri said this MoU will help in expediting development of new water aerodromes and operationalisation of new seaplane routes in India.
Shipping minister M Mandaviya said this MoU will enhance seamless connectivity and give a boost to the tourism industry.
