Coal India chairman Dr P M Prasad on Saturday took stock of mining activities in Gevra, Dipka and Kusmunda mega projects of the South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) in Korba district of Chhattisgarh.
SECLs role is crucial in meeting the energy requirements of the country, Prasad said. He urged to make 100% efforts towards achieving the annual target of production.
The coal India chairman had reached Bilaspur on the first day of SECL tour on Friday evening where CMD Dr Prem Sagar Mishra, functional directors, and chief vigilance officer Jayant Kumar Khamari welcomed him. The Coal India chairman discussed their targets and challenges.
Kusmunda Mega Project is on course towards the target of 50 MT production, 52 MT dispatch and 60 MCuM OBR for this financial year. So far this year, the area has recorded an increase of 49% in coal production, 44% in OBR and 12% in dispatch as compared to last year.
During the presentation, while discussing the DigiCoal project implemented in three mega projects of SECL, it was mentioned that for the first time in Coal India, digitization is being fully used in land acquisition in Khodri village adjacent to Kusmunda. The drones engaged in the project have helped in improving the gradient of the mine’s haul road.
After inspecting the Kusmunda project, the chairman reached the recently inaugurated Rapid Rail Load Out System in Gevra area. This modern system of dispatch has a capacity of 20 MTY.
