MUMBAI: Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA and former Minister Aaditya Thackeray on Saturday alleged that the BMC’s termination notice to a Cement Concrete (CC) road contractor for South Mumbai for failing to start works could turn into a settlement notice.
Aaditya said that total road works worth Rs 8,500 crore were stuck and not restarted after monsoons even as October ends.
Aaditya said that road contracts worth Rs 6000 crore forCC roads were given in January 2023 and around Rs 2500 crore were given in March 2022, all of which have not restarted after the monsoon. Aaditya asked if the defaulting CC road contractor would be blacklisted or the issue will be ‘settled’ by khoke (moneybags).
