To strengthen and improve the road network in the state, 32 major road projects (1,288 km) at a cost of Rs 55,000 crore will be implemented. Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO while presiding over a meeting with officials of the PWD and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) said the government was committed to overall development of the state.
The minister was apprised that the NHAI was working on new projects, including 1,286 km greenfield and 505 km brownfield roads. He said Rs 55,000 crore were awarded for 32 projects. Of these, eight projects were under implementation.
