Mumbai: Those wanting to come back to Bharat or fly out are more than fed up with Vande Bharat. Air India’s special international service, which ferries Indians stranded abroad as well as flies some Indians to global destinations, is getting flak for what customers say exorbitant and arbitrary pricing and a poorly run website.
Many are clamouring for the government to allow more airlines, including foreign carriers, to operate scheduled repatriation flights from overseas.
A Vande Bharat economy class flight ticket from Delhi to Houston starts at ₹1.03 lakh, twice of normal economy class fares. Delhi-Toronto and Delhi-Vancouver tickets are priced at ₹1.07 lakh.
