NEW DELHI: Completion of a large number of residential rooftop solar projects pushed up the pace of overall rooftop solar capacity addition by 53% sequentially at 521 MW in the April-June quarter (calendar year) against 341 MW installed in the January-March period, latest market data shows.
This is the highest capacity build-up in a quarter, which happened in spite of the deadly second Covid wave as the industry was prepared and the lockdowns in states were more targeted, according to green market tracker Mercom’s latest rooftop market report. On a year-on-year basis, installations were up 517% compared to the 85 MW installed in the corresponding quarter of 2020.
