A portion of the road today caved in at College Road near Fountain Chowk, Ludhiana. Two portions of two roads near Aarti Chowk and Malhar Road had caved in yesterday after rain lashed the city.
A resident of the College Road area, Rajat Kumar, said the civic body must take required measures to avoid such cave-ins, which were seen in the past too.
He said, “The safety of commuters should be ensured as a mishap could happen if required steps were not taken.”
