Some labourers continued to work on a road leading to a local college here even after it started raining heavily. Upon being asked to stop by local residents for fear of sub-standard work being carried out, the labourers refused. Thereafter, local residents live-streamed the work on Facebook and demanded a high-level inquiry and action.
“The labourers were laying bitumen near the Zila Parishad office during rain and locals were opposing it. I was passing by, but when I saw the work being done amid rain, I also interfered but they refused to stop. Then I streamed live on Facebook the construction of road amid rain. The government must order a high-level inquiry,” said Jatinder Kalra, a local BJP leader.
