A stretch of road between Soro and Kupari has been named after Mahatma Gandhi by the State Government.
The road from the Soro UN College up to Kupari via Tudigadia has been renamed following proposal of the district administration. On the occasion of observation of 150th birth anniversary of the Mahatma Gandhi, the district administration while sent several proposals to the State Government, one of them was the renaming of the road which was approved, said District Culture Officer Manaswani Rout.
Tudigadia played a major role during the pre-Independence era. Several freedom fighters fought against the British rule in response to the call from Mahatma Gandhi.
