Mumbai: A five-member high-level committee appointed by the railway board has been provided with comprehensive terms of reference to suggest measures to ascertain the mental state of Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and provide suggestions on handling of firearms by them within three weeks. The committee was set after four people were shot dead by RPF constable Chetan Singh on Jaipur-Mumbai Central Superfast Express on Monday.
The committee comprises principal chief security commissioners of Western Railway and Central Railway P C Sinha and Ajoy Sadany, principal chief commercial manager (north-west railway) Narsingh, principal chief medical director (north-central Railway) Dr J P Rawat and principal chief personnel officer (west central railway) Prabhat.
