Resumption of regular international flights will depend on the behaviour of the Omicron strain of the Coronavirus, Aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said today.
“We cannot disassociate ourselves from COVID…We are working with the health ministry and a call will be taken once we are over this (the omicron strain),” Scindia said at a CII Partnership summit.
The government had, recently, decided to allow regular flights from December 15, 2021, but later rescinded the order due to the new strain of the virus.
Limited international flight connectivity, however, continue under bubble arrangements that India has with about 32 countries.
