With a week to go for the Sodal Mela (fair) to begin in Jalandhar — from September 12 to 14 — as many as 55 groups, under the banner of the Chamber of Northern Welfare Societies (CNWS), have raised objections to the construction of the road from the Dada Colony office to IB Chowk, Industrial Area.
A group of residents and commercial establishment owners of the stretch have alleged that the road is not being properly constructed in the area. The MC has claimed that good quality material is used and road will be motorable before the Sodal Mela starts.
