Reliance Power fully commissions 3,960 MW Sasan ultra mega power project in Madhya Pradesh

NEW DELHI: Reliance Power today said that it has fully commissioned 3,960 MW Sasan ultra mega power project in Madhya Pradesh.

“Reliance Power today announced it is operating all six units comprising 3,960 MW (6×660 MW) continuously for 24 hours,” the company said in a statement.

The fifth 660 MW unit of the Sasan plant was commissioned in August last year.

Sasan UMPP is an integrated power plant cum coal mining project at a single location involving investment of over Rs 27,000 crore.

Coal production has already commenced from the 20 million tonnes Moher and Moher-Amlohri coal mines associated with the power project.

Reliance Power’s generation capacity is now 5,945 MW, which includes 5,760 MW of thermal capacity and 185 MW of renewable energy based capacity.

The Reliance Power scrip was trading at Rs 57.30, down 0.43 per cent on the BSE.
