In April 2017, Mumbai Housing and Area Development Board (MHADB) invited tenders for the redevelopment project of Bombay Development Department (BDD) Chawls on CTS Nos. 1539 & 1540 of Lower Parel Division at Worli in Mumbai. Under this project over 90 year old, 121 four-story (G+3) buildings, having a total of 9,689 tenements (each with 160 sq ft area) spread over 221,400 sq mtrs of plot area (22.14 Ha) were to be demolished.
