Rays Power Infra, a Rajasthan-based solar developer, on Wednesday said it has commissioned a 150 megawatt (MW) grid-connected solar power plant in Raichur and Koppal, Karnataka.
According to the official press release, the project would reduce 1,56,400 tonnes of carbon dioxide and produce 2,40,000 MW of green energy per year.
“We are delighted to announce that the Raichur & Bennur solar power plants are now operational… The project has also created several job opportunities for the local people. We are now focusing on establishing more such power plants in Karnataka and other states as well,” said Ketan Mehta, managing director and chief executive officer, Rays Power Infra.
The company has also initiated the execution of 500 MW of solar energy with expected commissioning in the next nine months to offset the power requirements of consumers in India and overseas, the release added.
It said that out of this 500 MW, 220 MW would be developed in India, and the remaining 280 MW will add to the brand’s international portfolio. It is also developing 2×900 MW solar parks in Rajasthan, which will be utilized for setting up utility-scale and C&I projects.
