Rajasthan Energy Minister Heera Lal Nagar will inaugurate the “Adoption of Sangod as an ideal model town by Rajasthan Solar Association” to promote solar for PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli scheme. The inauguration ceremony will be held at Sangod town in Kota.
On February 29, Rajasthan Solar Association (RSA) had announced the adoption of three towns in Rajasthan under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Scheme). The adopted towns are Pushkar, Phalodi and Sangod.
The RSA has adopted these three towns as model solar villages, which will serve as a showcase for the benefits of rooftop solar power. The association will work with local communities and stakeholders to install solar panels on homes and businesses in these towns.
“This scheme will help promote the adoption of rooftop solar power in Rajasthan and it has the potential to make a significant impact on the lives of people in rural areas by providing them with clean, reliable, and affordable electricity and adoption of these 3 towns and developing as solar modal towns will help growth Solar awareness,” said Ramakant Jangid, Vice President, RSA .
“We have requested the state government in order to make this scheme a success by incorporating a state subsidy alongside the central government’s support under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Scheme. Several states, including Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, have successfully implemented this approach, significantly increasing rooftop solar adoption rates,” said Ajay Singh Shekhawat, RSA.
