With rain bringing back chill in the city, the power consumption in Chandigarh has dipped with the total energy used by the consumers recording 190 megawatt (MW) on May 1. However, last year the power demand was 288 megawatt on the same day.
In mid-April, due to increasing heat, the power demand had soared to around 250 megawatt, and in many sectors, power cuts were introduced due to the heavy power load.
“In fact, because of the pleasant weather, the power demand has come down suddenly to 190 MW which was around 288 MW (maximum) last year the same day and 180 MW was the minimum demand.
