To bolster passenger safety and security, the Indian Railways has unveiled plans to introduce a state-of-the-art Facial Recognition System (FRS) powered by artificial intelligence technology at major stations, including the prominent Patna Junction within the Danapur division of the East Central Railway (ECR). As per a TOI report, the primary objective behind this development is to fortify security measures by directly linking the FRS to an existing database containing records of criminal activities occurring within and around railway station premises.
