AGRA: A day after the Railways, along with local administration and police, demolished several houses at Nai Basti area near Shri Krishna Janmasthan in Mathura, the drive was “stopped for three days” on Thursday. On Wednesday, Railways said it had pulled down “60 illegal structures,” reports Deepak Lavania.
Meanwhile, claiming ownership of the land, residents of the area filed an application in the civil court on Thursday seeking a stay on the demolition. A petition was filed in the same court earlier against notices by the Railways, and the next hearing is on August 21.
