Chennai: The Southern Railway has announced plans to develop Villivakkam station into a terminal in order to alleviate congestion at Chennai Central. The General Manager, R N Singh, revealed this information during a press conference on Thursday. According to an initial survey, the station is deemed suitable for this purpose. The railway authorities are currently preparing a detailed project report, which is expected to be completed within a month, a TOI report stated.
