AHMEDABAD: The metre gauge line connecting the city to Botad is likely to derail the schedule of commuters using roads in the western parts of Ahmedabad, such as Navrangpura, Vijay Crossroads, and Naranpura.
The rail line cuts through the city’s west. The railways is conducting trial runs and plans to commission the track by March 2022.
The AMC has not made any provision for underpasses or overbridges to mitigate the effects of the track. Hence, traffic snarls are expected at the crossroads near the Navrangpura police station and other sites.
