Delhi Water Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said on Tuesday the Public Works Department (PWD), Delhi Jal Board (DJB) and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) have been directed to carry out a safety audit of obsolete drains and pipelines following recent incidents of road cave-ins in the city.
On Tuesday, a portion of a road caved-in near Sher Shah road Tuesday morning, leading to traffic congestion at India Gate C-Hexagon. Taking to Twitter, the Delhi Traffic Police alerted commuters about the road cave in and advised them to plan their journey accordingly. “Traffic is affected on C-Hexagon India gate due to road cave-in near Shershah road cut.
