NEW DELHI: In a relief to air travellers ahead of coming festive season, IndiGo fleet will see “little or no impact” due to the latest issue being faced by Pratt & Whitney (PW) engines of microscopic contaminants in a metal used in a part of the engine core. Thirteen (PW) engines — of which 11 are already non-operational — require checks for this new issue. Which means only “two engines which are currently operational in IndiGo fleet would be required to be removed” for checks in just over a month, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said on Thursday.
