Pune: The Pune railway division will resume running of diesel electric multiple unit (DEMU), mainline electric multiple unit (MEMU) and local trains with full capacity from April 11 and April 15.
These trains were running with half capacity due to Covid restrictions.
Thousands of passengers from small cities like Daund and Baramati (DEMU trains) and Kolhapur, Miraj and Sangli (MEMU trains) use the facility for daily travel.
“DEMU, MEMU and local trains were running on half capacity because of Covid restrictions. From April 11, DEMU trains from Pune to Daund and Baramati will run with full capacity and MEMU trains from Kolhapur, Kiran and Sangli will also run with full capacity from April 15.” said Manoj Jhawar, Pune railway division spokesperson.
