PUNE: The Pune rail division has increased the cost of platform tickets by two times in a bid to control crowd during Diwali.
According to the officials, platform tickets will cost Rs. 30 between October 25 to November 10, the officials said.
“The same has been done to control the crowd which is expected to happen at the station on the Diwali time. The festival sees a lot of people travelling home and hence we don’t want any unnecessary crowding to happen at the station platforms. The present rate of platform tickets is Rs. 10. People are requested not to crowd at the station without any reason,” an official said.
