Jalandhar: According to the latest update from Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), the payment of bills above a fixed limit will be paid only through digital modes. The new guidelines will be implemented from July 1. Bills more than Rs 20,000 will be accepted digitally only. Earlier, digital payment was required only for bills above Rs 50,000. Notably, the decision was made to avoid rush of consumers at the electricity offices. To pay the bills consumers can either use PSPCL application or Paytm. No extra amount will be charged for using digital modes. For payment through any digital channel mode, the account number of the bill has to be entered, after which the consumer gets complete information about the bill, details about the billing amount and the last date of payment.
