NEW DELHI: IndiGo has begun a probe into the sloganeering by two Congress workers on a commercial flight with Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan which reportedly saw a LDF leader pushing the protestors. Possibly India’s first inflight political demonstration, the behaviour of the three passengers (not the CM, who was seated) on board Monday’s 6E 7407 Kannur-Trivandrum flight is being examined under the rules for unruly passenger, say people in the know. The sloganeering and alleged subsequent action had taken place after the flight had landed in Trivandrum around 5 pm.
IndiGo has reported the matter to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). If the airline probe concludes that the three passengers — seated on 8A, 8C and 7D — had been unruly, they could end up on the no fly list for some time. “IndiGo is considering to take appropriate steps in accordance with the applicable regulations, subject to an internal fact finding process,” said officials monitoring this case.
