MUMBAI: The price of petrol in Maharashtra’s Parbhani district crossed the Rs 90-mark. As for Mumbai, the retail price of the fuel stood at Rs 87.87 per litre on Friday. Sources in the oil industry said that with the rates rising lately, there was possibility that Mumbai would breach the Rs 90-mark soon. In Mumbai, the price of petrol is on a 20-month high already. The rate for diesel in Maharashtra was also at a high—Rs 81.05.
The cost of petrol in the Parbhani district on Friday was Rs 90.11. The price of petrol in Mumbai and Thane/Navi Mumbai was Rs 87.87 and Rs 87.97 respectively.
Six other districts in the state also crossed the Rs 89 per litre mark for petrol—Nanded, Buldana, Amravati, Ratnagiri, Aurangabad, and Gondia. They are likely to breach Rs 90 soon too.
