Private power transmission companies are irked by the government’s move to award a contract for Rs 18,500 crore electricity transmission from Leh to Haryana to state-run Power Grid Corp (PGCIL) without conducting bidding. The proposed transmission line is the largest of the green energy corridors being set up in the country and is being eyed by all major transmission players.
