In a shocking revelation, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) Pune division has uncovered two major electricity thefts. The ₹1.44 crore larceny was committed by two commercial establishments over the last several months in Wagholi. MSEDCL officials have now filed a police report against these companies and ordered that their electricity bills be paid immediately.
According to the information provided by the distribution company, MSEDCL squads recently raided Wagholi and discovered two cases of electricity thefts with similar modus operandi. The electricity thieves have been booked at the Lonikand police station.
The squad members first exposed M/S Rohan stone crusher company’s power theft. During the investigation, it was discovered that the electricity was stolen by laying the cable and bypassing the metre.
