Power supply remained suspended for nearly four hours in several parts of the town and nearby areas following heavy rain this morning.
The affected areas included Phase 3B2, 6 and 10, Sector 68, 71, 82, 90 and 91, Phase 7 and 8 of Industrial Area, and Balongi, Jagatpura, Nayagaon, Mullanpur, Badhmajra, Jujhar Nagar, Landran and Manauli.
According to sources, power supply was snapped in these parts of the town and nearby areas immediately after downpour began. “The power supply was disrupted in some areas due to snapping of electricity cables after trees fell on them,” said an official of the power department.
