NEW DELHI: A joint committee formed by National Green Tribunal (NGT) has sought explanation from Public Works Department (PWD) and BSES Yamuna Power Limited regarding the installation of a high-voltage power substation over a “small park” in Patparganj. According to Municipal Corporation of Delhi, a park never existed at the site.
The committee, which comprised officials from the corporation, department of horticulture, district administration, Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) and Delhi Fire Service (DFS), was formed after the local residents alleged that the entire park area was used for the substation and several trees were damaged at the site.
