Mumbai: The distribution of power for electric vehicles (EVs) in the state increased from 4.56 million units in September last year to 14.44 million units in July this year, said MSEDCL managing director Lokesh Chandra. With this, there is a threefold increase in distribution of electricity for EVs in 10 months, he said. In 2018, 4,643 EVs were sold while in 2022, 1.9 lakh electric vehicles were sold. As on March 31, the number of e-vehicles in the state was around 2.98 lakh, he added. This comprised nearly 2.5 lakh electric two wheelers. At the end of March, there were 1,399 electric buses. TNN
