Train services on the Bengaluru-Mysuru section were affected for awhile on Monday evening owing to disruption in power supply.
Though it was speculated that the disruption was due to snapping of power cables between Mandya and Yeliyuru owing to heavy rains, officials of the South Western Railway, said, “The power grid at Yeliyru sub-station which feeds the overhead power cable, tripped owing to overload which led to power outage.” This affected the movement of other trains as well, leaving passengers stranded. However, the power supply was restored by 8.25 p.m. The power outage lasted nearly 45 minutes.
